Crypto payments firm MoonPay has acquired Entendre, a developer of AI-based accounting software used by stablecoin payments and fintech groups, to enhance its back-office financial processes.
The transaction adds Entendre’s software to areas such as reconciliation, treasury management and period-end closing.

Experience unmatched clarity with a single platform that combines unique data, AI, and human expertise.
Entendre provides automation for finance operations with high transaction volumes, several legal entities and activity in multiple currencies.
Its users include Polygon Labs, Thirdweb, Brale, Babylon Labs, Ostium, Courtyard and DoubleZero.
The company claims organisations on its system typically oversee more than 30 financial accounts, handle about 25,000 transactions each month and operate across at least three legal entities.
Entendre founder Kareem Khattab will join MoonPay as vice president of Applied AI.
Khattab said: “Accounting is one of the most underserved areas of the future stablecoin and AI economy.
“We built Entendre to let AI agents own the full accounting workflow from transaction to ledger. MoonPay is making commerce, treasury, trading, and payments simpler for businesses around the world. Together we can make the back office just as fast as the transaction itself.”
The software uses agents that assess available model providers against accounting tasks and assign each task to the model considered most suitable.
Entendre connects with finance and workplace systems already in use, including general ledgers such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, Xero, DualEntry and Campfire; spend and revenue platforms including Ramp and Stripe; digital asset infrastructure across stablecoin cards and banks such as Rain, Meow and Slash; and workplace tools including Slack and Gmail.
It also supports MCP servers, which allow companies to link accounting agents with custom tools and data sources.
Entendre’s platform and staff are joining MoonPay with immediate effect.
MoonPay CEO and co-founder Ivan Soto-Wright said: “Legacy software was built for manual workflows. The next financial system will be coordinated by humans and agents.
“If businesses are going to adopt stablecoins at scale, their finance operations need the same speed, context, and automation as the payments themselves. Entendre takes us deeper into the agentic finance layer so businesses can operate in this new paradigm.”
The purchase follows a series of acquisitions by MoonPay tied to digital money infrastructure.
Earlier this year, it bought Sodot, a key management company whose technology has secured more than $50bn in transactions.
More recently, MoonPay announced MoonPay Trade alongside the acquisitions of Decent and DFlow as part of its buildout of infrastructure for trade execution and tokenisation.
