MoneyGram has launched a new online money transfer platform with Walmart that offers customers new features and a streamlined experience when sending money through Walmart.moneygram.com.

The upgraded Walmart.Moneygram.com site is built on its new MTaaS platform (Money Transfer as a Service).

MoneyGram said MTaaS extends the same services as its website moneygram.com to third party allies through a co-branded experience.

For clients, the portal offers features such as guest sending and MoneyGram's ‘Track a Transfer’ tool when they need to send money to any of MoneyGram's nearly 350,000 locations as well as bank accounts around the world through Walmart.Moneygram.com.

MoneyGram chief marketing officer Juan Agualimpia said: "We are pleased to be a part of this exciting opportunity to help Walmart deliver a true omni-channel experience. For nearly 20 years MoneyGram and Walmart have worked together to provide our customers with the highest quality and most convenient financial services.”

Walmart US senior director of financial services Kirsty Ward said: "Improving the customer experience to save time as well as money is a priority for Walmart. This new digital experience for MoneyGram transfers at Walmart.com is another example of delivering seamless solutions for customers wherever they choose to shop."
