MoneyGram International has expanded its digital capabilities in the Asia Pacific region in order to offer more money transfer options to its consumers.

Consumers in Hong Kong can now benefit from the MoneyGram website and Plus Rewards programme. The company also launched its app in New Zealand, allowing transfer of money to people worldwide.

MoneyGram users can send money via its online or mobile platforms, a kiosk or at nearly 350,000 agent locations. Its platform integrates digital and physical network, financial settlement engine, cloud-based infrastructure and compliance programme.

Statistics reveal that 60% of the company’s total money transfer revenue is from digital transactions in markets outside of the US. These digital transactions are said to constitute 20% of all money transfer transactions.

The launches in Hong Kong and New Zealand bring MoneyGram’s platform to more than 60 countries.

MoneyGram app will launch in Hong Kong and the online website will roll out in New Zealand next year. The company plans to boost its digital capabilities through next year.
