Remitly vice president of Europe Elena Novokreshchenova said: “Remitly makes the process of sending money internationally faster, easier, more transparent, and less costly.

“We do this by eliminating the forms, codes, agents, extra time and fees typical of the traditional money transfer process.

“We’re thrilled to be in France where customers are increasingly transitioning away from traditional offline channels to more efficient and affordable digital channels.”

Set up in 2011, Remitly has offices in Seattle that serves as its base, London, the Philippines, and Nicaragua.

In 2017, the firm expanded into the UK market.

Earlier this month, Remitly launched a remittance service tailored for seafarers that will enable them to transfer funds home without leaving their ships.
