Canadian acquirer Moneris Solutions has signed up to American Express Canada’s new OptBlue program that has been designed to help third-party acquirers to sign up small merchants to accept American Express.
The program was initially rolled out in the US in early 2014 and later launched in Canada in June 2015.
It serves as a one-stop servicing solution, enabling third-party acquirers to offer small merchants a single statement, one settlement process and one point of contact for key card brands.
The program also allows third party acquirers to determine merchant pricing as well as offer payment processing and servicing.
Moneris Solutions chief sales and relationship officer Jeff Guthrie said: "Moneris’ goal is to help our merchants be payment ready and the OptBlue program will support this objective by offering a better level of service for merchants accepting American Express.
