Moneris Solutions, a Canada-based payment processing solutions provider, has signed an agreement with UnionPay International to allow UnionPay cards acceptance for customers in the country.
Under the agreement, Moneris and UPI will expand their network in Canada through Moneris’ enablement of UnionPay card acceptance.

As part of its service offerings to merchants, Moneris expects to launch UnionPay card acceptance in the fall of 2014.
Moneris president and CEO, Angela Brown, said: "We are very pleased to be partnering with UnionPay to bring card acceptance to our valued merchants.
"The number of Chinese visitors to Canada is growing at a staggering rate and Moneris wants to ensure its customers are prepared to meet the demand for their payment method of choice."
