MobileNOW!, a US-based provider of mobile phone and cashless payment methods for the parking and transportation industry, has finalized an agreement to conduct a pilot program for pay-by-mobile phone payment for metered parking in Santa Rosa, California.

Scheduled to begin on 27 August 2014, the pilot project will add a quick mobile payment option for visitors to two downtown Santa Rosa districts: Courthouse Square and Railroad Square.
Santa Rosa’s parking manager Kim Nadeau said: "Mobile payment technology enables us to offer a convenient new payment option that responds to the increasing use of smart phones for cashless payments.
"We especially liked MobileNOW!’s merchant validation program, which allows merchants to provide validation to customers for on-street metered parking, via their mobile payment technology."
