Miura Systems has launched POSzle, a modular tablet point of sale (POS) solution for retailers that want the freedom to operate a fixed and mobile POS and payment solution.

The low cost POS solution, which supports integrated payments, features a range of connectivity options to make it future proof, the company claims.

The platform features FUSE Smart Hub and Fuse Retail API, which integrate and power multiple peripherals, including a Miura printer, Miura PIN entry devices and third party cash drawers and scanners.

It also boasts of a range of physical ports, which will provide future support for optional 3rd party peripherals as well as multiple connectivity modes – including Bluetooth, WIFI or wired.

The company added that with POSzle, the tablet can be easily unlocked and used anywhere in store with compatible Miura payment devices.

Payments can also be taken using Miura’s M010 or M007 payment devices, which support contact and contactless-based transactions using magnetic stripe, smartcard and PIN as well as mobile wallet solutions such as Apple Pay, Android Pay and Samsung Pay.

Miura Systems SVP revenue & proposition development Peter De Souza said: "Point of Sale desperately needs a reboot, according to our recent research report which surveyed shoppers and retailers.

"Over 40% of store staff interviewed said that if there was one technology improvement they would make to their store, it would be a more up-to-date POS system. A similar number of shoppers Miura spoke to complained that card terminals are often worn and dirty."
