Metrobank Card Corporation (MCC), a credit card issuer in Philippines, has selected Morpho (Safran) as its EMV card supplier.
Under the agreement, Morpho will deliver nearly half a million EMV MasterCard- and VISA-branded credit cards to MCC.

Morpho said that it will provide the contact modules for its global platform-compliant EMV product with a Java operating system, JMV Pro.
The solution will enable MCC to migrate its magnetic stripe cards to the more secure EMV chip card.
MCC operations head Harry Gue said: "For MCC, this is the premiere of migrating from magnetic stripe cards to EMV chip cards. We can benefit from Morpho’s extensive global experience in the EMV payment area, as they have supported reputable banks in their respective EMV migration strategies.
"Their flexibility and their innovative technology are also huge advantages for us. Therefore, we are very happy to have Morpho as our supplier."
