MasterCard has teamed up with Green Dot, a technology-centric, pro-consumer bank holding firm, to provide its customers with an option to reload their prepaid cards at Walmart Stores across the US.
With this development, the cardholders with MasterCard rePower-enabled prepaid cards will be able to reload their cards through the Walmart Rapid Reload service.
Through the Green Dot Network, Walmart Rapid Reload provides cardholders with an easy way to load funds to their cards by swiping them at any register at participating outlets.
In addition, cardholders have an option to add funds to their prepaid account by using cash or a pre-printed payroll or government cheque and the cashier-added funds will be available for use within minutes.
The MasterCard rePower network is open to any MasterCard issuer of re-loadable prepaid card programmes.
Products such as the Univision MasterCard Prepaid Card offer the new cash reload option through Walmart Rapid Reload.
