MasterCard Worldwide premium
cardholders will be able to obtain a replacement card within
24 hours through a partnership with digital security solution
provider, Gemalto.
On becoming notified of a lost or stolen card,
MasterCard taps into Gemalto’s global network of certified banking
centres and provides the cardholder’s confidential information
through a secured communication infrastructure.

It is said that upon receiving this
information, Gemalto will then take all the necessary steps to
supply a replacement card within 24 hours, even to travelling
customers, and will hand deliver in some cases.

quickly react to our customers’ needs. Their unified network of
service centres, dispersed in all five continents, ensures
cardholders will quickly receive a replacement card no matter where
they travel.”
Under the agreement, Gemalto will also assume
responsibility for centralised data management whereby the banking
information is processed and the card replacement request is
directed to the appropriate local personalisation centre.
