VeriFone has acquired Global Bay mobile
Technologies as part of its expansion into the mobile payments
space.

The two companies will integrate their
platform to extend the payments service “to offer a complete set of
new mobile retail applications”.
The service will support applications on smart
phones, tables as well as older mobile models, and will include
mobile user interface management, local data storage, data syncs
and app updates.
