Emerging Markets Payments Holdings (EMPH), a
third-party payments processor and merchant acquirer in Africa and
the Middle East, has acquired ACET Processing as part of its
strategy to enter the South African market.
EMPH specialises in debit, credit and prepaid
card processing and covers Visa, MasterCard, American Express,
Diners International, and China UnionPay. It has a distribution
network spanning 125 banks in 40 countries in Africa and the Middle
East.

ACET’s client base includes 15,000 retail
outlets, creating easy and fast access for EMPH to extend its
financial products portfolio to store cards and even personal
loans.
EMPH said the acquisition and the entrance
into the South African market “creates the potential of an
integrated solution for both banking and retail clients across the
continent”.
