JCB International (JCBI) has rolled out J/Speedy, its NFC-based global contactless payment service, to provide a convenient and faster mode of payment.

J/Speedy uses the NFC technology, global standards for proximity communication and the EMV chip technology which offers an enhanced security feature.

Through JCB partners worldwide, JCBI speeds up both the merchant acceptance for J/Speedy and the J/Speedy card issuing.

JCB, as a credit card issuer, will commence J/Speedy card and mobile issuing in Japan in 2015 through feedback from the pilot program, which is planned to start in Tokyo in July 2014.

Customers will have to use the J/Speedy card or other J/Speedy embedded device close to the merchant terminal reader for a faster payment without signature on the receipt.

J/Speedy can also be issued for a variety of devices, such as mobile and wearable devices, for a whole new range of JCB brand contactless payment possibilities.
