JCB International (JCBI) has inked an agreement with Caisse Federale de Credit Mutuel (CFCM) to expand the acceptance of JCB cards in France.

Under the terms of the agreement, CFCM will add acceptance of JCB cards at CFCM merchants and ATMs across France starting July 2016.

Merchants with a payment acceptance agreement with CIC or Credit Mutuel-CM11 group will be able to boost their turnover with customers coming from Japan, Asia-Pacific including China, Korea, Taiwan, and Russia.

By expanding the merchant network, JCBI has been gradually enhancing its footprint in Europe. JCB cards are currently accepted at about 30 million merchants across the globe.

JCBI deputy president Kimihisa Imada said: "This is a big milestone in our business in France. As France is one of the most famous destinations for Japanese, Asian and European tourists, this partnership will bring more benefits and convenience to JCB card members."
