Japanese payments firm JCB has unveiled plans to enable shoppers in Japan use Google Pay for in-store payments later in 2018.

JCB said that it will facilitate Google Pay transactions in Japan through its contactless payment solution QUICPay.

The service can be availed by JCB credit, debit, or prepaid card holders at stores where QUICPay is accepted and online wherever JCB is accepted.

Osaifu Keitai supported devices with Android OS5.0 or higher version will support enrolment of cardholders on Google Pay app.

“Card information enrolled for users’ Google accounts can also be used for in-app payments and online shopping wherever Google Pay is supported. Payments are easy, with no need to enter contact information, credit card number, or other information every time you make a purchase,” JCB said.
