Initially, it was believed that though cyber criminals accessed credit card holders details but no attempts to obtain cash were reported.

However, the banks now say that they have unearthed evidence of possible fraud on cards and they are in contact with those customers.

In total, it is estimated that the hacking attack in mid-October exposed either the financial details or personal information of 1.1 million people to online raiders.
