Payment solutions provider Ingenico Group has partnered with fintech Pundi X to facilitate crypto payments for customers worldwide.

As part of the collaboration, Ingenico integrated its point-of-sale (POS) APOS A8 devices with Pundi X’s XPOS software. APOS A8 is a portable POS solution that runs on Android.

Merchants will now be able to use Ingenico’s POS terminal to accept various cryptocurrencies under the Pundi X payment ecosystem.

Both merchants and crypto token holders can transact via XPASS cards or XWallet app and Pundi X’s multi-currency crypto card.

The POS device provides conversion rates between fiat and crypto currencies at the retail outlets. This is expected to speed-up the transactions, which will be powered by blockchain technology.

Pundi X co-founder and CEO Zac Cheah said: “Pundi X can now leverage the APOS A8, the most widely sold Android payment device in the world and benefit from Ingenico’s global support in a number of key markets.
