Ingenico Group has introduced its Moby/5500 series of mobile card readers for merchants and independent software vendors (ISVs) to enable pin-on-mobile checkout for shoppers.
The new series of card readers support different electronic payments such as EMV, magstripe and NFC/contactless, including Apple Pay and Google Pay.
Ingenico added that the device are compatible with a variety of smartphones and tablet devices, allowing use in multiple settings – at the counter and in the aisle, among others.
The enterprise-grade device is said to be suitable for a local diner, enterprise retailer, global field services business or a regional fast food chain.
Ingenico North America head of solutions development and deployment Irfan Nasir said: “Our retail customers know that ecommerce growth in the US has driven an evolution in consumer preferences for similar frictionless experiences in-store.
“This can mean paying with any of a variety of methods or expecting any sales personnel on the floor to be both a knowledgeable staffer and a mobile point of checkout themselves.
