Ingenico Group, a developer of technology solutions used in secure electronic transactions, has introduced new initiatives to integrate payment into connected devices.
Ingenico Labs has unveiled a new payment acceptance pilot solution aimed at the Curie Institute’s campaign against cancer (A daffodil for Curie).
The solution will allow passers-by with contactless payment cards to make a donation to the Curie Institute by simply flashing their cards before advertising screens.
Also, the NFC payment acceptance solution will be used globally to integrate contactless card and NFC telephone payment into connected objects, generating additional sales of products and services.
Ingenico Group EVP Innovation Michel Léger said: "With this initiative undertaken alongside Media Transports, we have transformed screens into fundraising instruments for the benefit of a great cause.
"This solution represents a technological achievement and is a world first. It triggers new behaviours and represents a major milestone in the history of the integration of payment acceptance into new connected devices."
