Ingenico ePayments, the online and mobile commerce division of Ingenico Group, and Ingenico Labs, its innovation department, have jointly developed TapHero, a new contactless payment solution for mobile devices.
The technology combines elements from both card-present and card-not-present payments. The platform, the company said, will enable the user to make online payments by tapping a payment card against an NFC-enabled mobile phone.

For increased security, the company is adding a feature layer that simulates a card-present payment.
The company added that TapHero will automatically detect the presence of an NFC reader.
Ingenico ePayments vice president of products Ludovic Houri said: “TapHero is developed using proven technology from Ingenico Group, the global leader in seamless payment.
