India’s ICICI Bank has partnered with the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport (UPSRTC) to launch a new prepaid card, which can be used both as a travel card and a shopping card.
The new ICICI Bank Combo prepaid card will prevent customers from paying cash for buying tickets for every trip on a UPSTRC bus or carrying monthly or quarterly passes.
Some of its benefits include wider acceptability at all Visa point of sale (POS) retail shops, malls and websites for cash-less shopping, no requirement of minimum balance on the shopping card, no need to open a bank account to avail shopping card benefits, free SMS alerts on every transaction done through shopping card, and secure and safe shopping transactions.
ICICI Bank executive director, Rajiv Sabharwal, said as part of their constant endeavour to bring new, innovative offerings to their customers, they are pleased to partner with UPSRTC to introduce this first-of-its-kind card in the country, in Uttar Pradesh.
“This card will give commuters of UPSRTC greater convenience and ease of travel. We are confident that this initiative will go a long way in setting new benchmarks for efficiency and help in increasing electronic payments in the country,” Sabharwal added.
The ICICI Bank Combo Pre-paid card can be availed at UPSRTC bus depots in Uttar Pradesh.
