India and South Africa have agreed to launch a BRICS business travel card to ease up business travel between member countries.

A joint communiqué of the 9th India-South Africa Ministerial conference in Durban, South Africa on 19 May, said: "Areas for consideration would include the extension of multiple entry business visas for longer periods and the exploration of the proposal to introduce a BRICS Business Travel Card."

In addition to simplifying different kinds of visas, the new travel card proposes multiple-entries to all BRICS countries for five years.

Acknowledging the significant role played by the BRICS mechanism in achieving more representative and equitable global governance, both sides agreed to strengthen the mechanism, aiming at improving global political and economic governance, and enhancing the voice of emerging markets and developing countries in international affairs.

South Africa has already announced availability of 10-year visas for BRICS business travelers on arrival, with each visit not exceeding 30 days.
