India-based Himachal Pradesh State Cooperative Bank (HPSCB) has launched RuPay Kisan credit-cum-debit card for its rural customer to facilitate easier access to credit and debit facilities.
The card is specifically targeted at farmers to help them buy agricultural products like tractors, pesticides, fertilizers or mechanised tools.
The bank has over 207 online branches and extension counters, which offer services particularly to the farming and horticulturalist communities.
RuPay is an Indian domestic card scheme conceived and launched by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI). It was created to fulfill the Reserve Bank of India’s aim to have a domestic, open loop, and multilateral system of payments in India.
