HDFC Bank, the second-largest Indian private sector bank by assets, and internet network Times Internet have partnered to launch Times Card, a co-branded credit card aimed at young professionals in India.

Aimed at people between 24 and 38, it offers a range of dining, film and shopping discounts and deals, as well as the option of redeeming accumulated points against air miles.

On the card itself, a QR code can be scanned, taking the customer to the Times Card website, where they can access offers and apply for the card.

Times Card will be launched in eight cities – Mumbai, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Pune and Chandigarh – exclusively on the MasterCard platform.

Parag Rao, senior executive vice-president and business head of credit cards & merchant acquiring services at HDFC Bank, said: "We have launched credit cards for women, doctors, teachers, and most recently for farmers.

"We now have a premium product of the highest quality and great customer value for the discerning youth of India and young at heart."
