Google has partnered with ChowNow, an online ordering and marketing platform for restaurants, to expand its Google Wallet payment system to thousands of independent restaurants across the US.

Under the deal, all ChowNow restaurant clients ordering apps will include Google Wallet functionality at no additional cost.

In addition, all the new restaurant clients will receive it as a standard feature.

The ChowNow platform will enable customers to pay for their orders with Google Wallet at checkout using the ‘Buy With Google’ button.

The addition of Google Wallet aims to benefits both restaurants and their customers by providing enhanced convenience in ordering and marketing, reducing ordering times as well as increasing order volumes.

ChowNow CEO Chris Webb said: "In addition to increased convenience, Google Wallet also offers an extra layer of security to both consumers and restaurants. With Google Wallet Fraud Protection 100% of verified unauthorized Google Wallet transactions in the US are covered."
