Under the long-term collaboration, FOO will act as technology partner for the OMPAY wallet. The platform is designed to be scalable and modular, supporting digital payments, virtual card issuance and additional financial services.
In a statement, FOO said the collaboration is intended to support “Oman’s national digital transformation agenda” by broadening access to cashless payment options and supporting the country’s fintech infrastructure for both consumers and businesses.
The wallet is built on FOO’s digital wallet platform and microservices architecture. The setup is intended to support performance and enable the rollout of new use cases over time.
The OMPAY wallet includes peer-to-peer (P2P) payments, peer-to-merchant (P2M) transactions, QR-based payments and contactless payments. It also supports instant virtual card issuance for online and in-store use.
In addition, the wallet enables international remittances to more than 200 countries, as well as wallet top-ups and real-time transaction management.
OMPAY is also using FOO’s digital onboarding and security framework.
