US-based payments and financial services technology solutions provider Fiserv is set to expand its research and development operations in Nenagh, Ireland.

The move will see the company adding 200 jobs in Nenagh over the next three years to cater to the rising demand for digital solutions among its clients.

Fiserv set up its Nenagh Technology Centre in 2017 to develop new services that support the movement of money and information.

The company’s expansion plan in Nenagh is backed by the Irish Government through its inward investment agency IDA Ireland.

IDA Ireland CEO Martin Shanahan called the expansion plan a ‘clear endorsement’ of the availability of a ‘skilled and talented workforce’ across the Mid-West region.

The investment will accelerate the development of the company’s flagship offerings, Carat and Clover.

Carat is an omnichannel commerce ecosystem designed to enable large enterprises to imagine and realise new customer experiences across digital channels and devices.

Clover is a point-of-sale and business management platform that helps small and medium sized businesses to accept payments and enhance their operating efficiencies.

Commenting on the development, Fiserv head of EMEA John Gibbons said: “At Fiserv, we are committed to continuous innovation on behalf of our clients and consumers.

“We look forward to continuing to grow our talented and diverse workforce in Nenagh and value the support from key partners such as IDA Ireland that help enable us to achieve excellence in everything we do.”

At present, Fiserv is hiring for various positions at Nenagh including application and web development, cloud infrastructure and data science and architecture.

Recently, Deutsche Bank and Fiserv joined forces to create a comprehensive provider of payment acceptance and banking solutions.

In April this year, the company launched a new functionality to support in-demand digital payment options and expand touch-free payment capabilities via a new relationship with PayPal.
