FIS, a US-based banking and payments technology company, has launched a new Digital Innovation Lab in San Francisco to create digital experiences that drive positive relationships between financial institutions and their customers.

The new lab, which is FIS’ fourth innovation lab, has been designed to promote the ideation and development of disruptive digital solutions that support financial clients and commerce.

The Innovation Lab will also facilitate idea sharing and cut down time-to-market on new applications.

FIS SVP and GM mobile financial services Doug Brown said the Lab will serve as an entrepreneurial ‘garage’, where engineers build new product prototypes with cutting-edge technologies.

"Located in the U.S. hub for high-tech innovation, the lab is empowering FIS to set the pace of digital developments for the financial industry," he added.

FIS already has three innovation labs in New York, London and Bangkok. It provides technologies and assets that will modernize banking and payment.
