Global payment processing company First Data and The Members Group (TMG), a card processing and payment solutions provider, are set to offer Europay, MasterCard and Visa (EMV) credit card issuance programme to financial institutions, following the approval from Visa and MasterCard.

The EMV credit card issuance programme allows clients to quickly and efficiently launch their EMV programmes.

In order to offer any such programme, the company must meet the requirements standardised by the card networks, including the successful completion of US chip issuing project.

TMG product manager, Brandon Kuehl, said offering this expedited process from First Data helps make the transition to EMV less burdensome for their clients.

"Building an easier path to EMV migration was a message TMG heard from our clients from the start. By partnering with the right organisations, our clients are now able to get EMV cards in market more quickly, which gives them a competitive edge with today’s smart, tech-savvy consumer," Kuehl added.

First Data president, Barry McCarthy, said providing this streamlined capability is another demonstration of First Data’s commitment in enabling EMV and putting their customers first.
