First Data, an online payment transaction facilitator, has debuted its mobile payment solution that would make online payments faster, intelligent and more secure for merchants.

The new app enables merchants to immediately turn their smart phone or tablet into a mobile point of sale (POS) device by using a compact pin enabled card reader device and a user-friendly mobile application.

The card reader, which has a modern design and connects to the smartphone through Bluetooth, is also fitted with a LCD display and tactile response pin pad for pin entry.

The new technology accepts an array of card payments, including all kinds of chip and magnetic stripe cards and is fully compliant with RBI, EMV and PCI standards.

Flexible enough to be customised to suit merchant needs, the new solution can be used for accepting cash and cheques together with multi-bank EMI payments.

First Data Acquiring Services general manager Nitish Asthana said: "Merchants today are looking for a simple and reliable solution from a trusted partner to enable them to grow their business with customers.
