FIME, an advanced secure-chip testing services provider, has expanded its partnership with Brazilian distributor SMARTCON | paySmart to offer additional EMV testing services to Brazilian issuing banks.

The partnership will provide local EMV migration support and the MasterCard Card Personalization Validation (CPV) service for EMV issuance projects in Brazil.

According to FIME, the latest agreement will expand the current test tool distribution offering and will now include onsite support for MasterCard card testing, consulting support for new card issuance and card profile set-up.

Additionally, FIME will also offer formal approval of MasterCard CPV services that assists issuers in reducing product time to market by enabling local certification of MasterCard contact and contactless cards.

FIME America director, Xavier Giandominici, said: "This partnership enables us to be in closer proximity to our customers in Brazil. Issuers can now expect a more convenient, quicker and cost effective local service offering from FIME, facilitated and coordinated by our specialist local distributor."

SMARTCON | paySmart business development director, Daniel Nunes de Oliveira, said: "For issuers, formal approval of their contact and contactless CPV projects can now happen locally in Brazil, without the need to send sample cards for testing internationally."
