Entrust Datacard has rolled out the new Datacard MX Series Laser 350 module to improve security of its card issuance systems.

The new module includes personalization features with hard-to-replicate security elements.

It can work in line with the Datacard MX Series card issuance systems. The module also offers users greater module throughput, as well as helps integrate multiple modules into the MX Series Card Issuance System to adhere to higher throughput needs.

Issuers can use the laser to engrave several grayscale elements at over 400 dpi directly on the front and back of the card substrate with the help of this module.

Laser 350 module supports various Datacard laser personalisation elements such as the Datacard PersoCurve Security Feature that enables personalisation data to be printed in a non-standard format.

It also supports the Datacard LaserTact Security Feature, a raised feature that is hard to reproduce, durable and easy-to-verify, as well as the Datacard Photo Optimization Software that improves an original image, on the fly, during the card personalisation process.

The module seamlessly integrates seamlessly with the existing Datacard MX8100 Card Issuance Systems and Datacard MX6100 Card Issuance Systems, without the requirement of any external power or cooling sources.

Entrust Datacard vice president of central issuance and services product management Dan Good said: "At Entrust Datacard, we are committed to providing our customers with the latest technologies to help in the fight against fraud.

"With the new Laser 350 Module, issuers will have access to a wide variety of difficult-to-replicate security features which can be integrated into their card issuance process. This new module utilizes the latest in engraving technology to deliver high-speed, high-quality laser imaging of cards."
