Payments processor Emerging Markets Payments (EMP) has teamed up with UnionPay International to expand its card acceptance in the Arab World.
The partnership will allow UnionPay expand card acceptance regionally, beginning from Jordan.
UnionPay cardholders can make purchases on all EMP points of sale terminals at merchants network as well as on other payment channels of the company.
EMP Jordan CEO Hassan Mayassi said: "This agreement will not only benefit both parties, but many customers will have access to more services and payment options throughout the region."
UnionPay International Middle East deputy general manager (in charge) Wang Han added: "This in-depth cooperation between the two parties will further expand the acceptance of UnionPay cards in the Middle East. Meanwhile, the two parties join hands in carrying out UnionPay IC card migration in Jordan, offering more secure and convenient payment experiences to cardholders."
