Acculynk’s payment gateway and processing solution PayLeap has announced an agreement with Ecwid to allow small and medium-sized businesses to accept online payments.

Ecwid’s retailers will be able to use PayLeap’s PCI-certified payment solution, which enables merchants to securely accept payments over the Internet or any other application where the credit card is not physically present at the point of sale, such as mail or phone order, call centres and recurring billing.

"Small and medium-sized merchants need payment flexibility, and PayLeap’s PIN-based debit card payment plan provides an additional, innovative option, while making the process quick and easy," said Jim O’Hara, president of Ecwid.

Ecwid, a cloud-based e-commerce platform, allows merchants to create professional online stores and include them into existing web, mobile or social site. It has over 400,000 registered merchants in 175 countries and is available in 45 languages.

"PayLeap allows merchants to accept US and international-based PIN debit cards and ATM-only debit cards on their websites in addition to traditional credit and debit cards.

"Merchants love PIN debit because it lowers their fraud risk and transaction processing costs and customers love the convenience and security of PIN debit online," said PayLeap’s general manager John Chandy.
