Thailand-based dz card International has teamed up with Norwegian biometric technology company Zwipe to introduce biometric payment solutions.

Under the terms of the contract, dz card will leverage Zwipe’s biometric technology platform to launch biometric payment cards in its home market and across Southeast Asia, plus India and Africa.

Commenting on the collaboration, dz card CEO Adam Renaud said: “We have received requests from several large issuers seeking biometric payment cards and we are excited to partner with Zwipe, who is uniquely positioned to support our customers in introducing, optimising and scaling up the issuance of this innovative product which makes contactless payment so much more secure.”

Zwipe CEO André Løvestam said: “We are honoured that dz card decided to join our growing customer base and we are confident that our unique and dedicated approach to support them in launching biometric payment cards will be a win for their customers, some of the largest financial institutions in Southeast Asia.”

dz card provides smart cards solution. Its card production facilities have been certified by global card schemes such as Visa, Mastercard, JCB, Diners, Union Pay International, SAS GSM, among others.

In June, Zwipe partnered with Infineon Technologies to develop advanced system-on-chip solutions and related system designs for mass deployment of biometric smart devices such as payment cards and other wearables.
