Discover Financial Services has approved Acquirer Systems as a certification service provider in EMV contact and contactless payments for its customers in the US, Canada, Mexico and Caribbean.

Acquirer Systems will meet the EMV contact and contactless payment requirements outlined in Discover’s D-Payment Application Specification (D-PAS).
With the new move, merchants, value added resellers (VARs), acquirers and payment processors in the US can now use Acquirer Systems’ Certification Service to certify for the acceptance of Discover branded cards.
Acquirer Systems claims that its certification service will help merchants and their VARs gain control of the most streamlined and intuitive certification process on the market, enabling quick certification with fewer resources.
Acquirer Systems said that the new approach ensures certification at the first attempt, with fewer resources, at a time and speed that suits the client.

Acquirer Systems CEO Fergal Molloy added: "We believe that our approach to delivering certification and compliance services will be radically transformed by our cloud technology.
