Digital River, a provider of Commerce-as-a-Service solutions, has announced a hardware and software solution – Digital River World Payments mobile point-of-sale (mPOS) solution – in order to support Apple Pay.
Small to mid-sized businesses can make use of this solution that is anchored on NFC-based ‘tap and pay’ or ‘wave’ payment acceptance.
The solution will also support magnetic stripe, EMV (chip and PIN) transactions, and contactless credit and debit card payments.
Merchants can benefit from the solution’s free mobile app and Bluetooth-enabled payment terminal to expand the ways they can accept payments and also to streamline their business processes.
Sales workflows and data can be consolidated so that analysis becomes easier. The tablet version of the solution supports a Bluetooth-enabled cash drawer and thermal printer, and merchants can add photos of products and UPC codes using the solution’s unique inventory capability.
Souheil Badran, senior vice president and general manager of Digital River World Payments, said: "Mobility is an important strategy for small and medium-sized businesses. For these merchants, Digital River’s mPOS solution will simplify the entire payment process by providing them more choices for payment methods as well as an open platform for integrating third-party loyalty programs, offers and self-checkout capabilities.
