Diebold has teamed up with Suncoast Credit Union and FIS to deliver full cash recycling at the ATM with Diebold’s Opteva Flex Performance Series ATMs.

The new solution will enable ATMs to reuse consumer-deposited cash for future withdrawals, while increasing ATM availability and decreasing the frequency and cost of cash replenishment visits.

Diebold North America operations vice president, Mychal Kempt, said the company and Suncoast have been leading the evolution of the self-service channel to a more efficient platform for consumers and financial institutions.

"FIS’ involvement adds full support from a leading processor, bringing fully-automated cash recycling to fruition in the United States," Kempt added.

Suncoast is currently working together with Diebold to develop and test cash recycling functionality, while FIS is designing and implementing the back-end processing required for easy full cash recycling.

Diebold’s Opteva Flex Performance Series ATMs have a recycling capacity of nearly 10,800 notes and accept deposits of up to 13,100 notes in a five-cassette configuration.
