Diamond Trust Bank Uganda (DTB), a commercial bank, has introduced Mastercard Gold Debit Card and Platinum Credit Card for premium bank customers across the country.
The premium card payment solutions incorporate EMV chip & pin technology and can be used at all local and international merchants that accept Mastercard.

Cardholders will also be able to make online purchases with these cards.
DTB managing director Varghese Thambi said: “The introduction of the debit and credit card solutions is in support of introducing innovation to the banking sector, enhancing the consumer experience and boosting payment security for the benefit of all citizens.”
DTB has 38 branches in Uganda and also operates in Kenya, Tanzania and Burundi. The launch is said to be part of the bank’s digital strategy.
The bank currently offers various digital channels such as internet and mobile banking, mobile merchant payment services, digital tellers and digital lobbies.
