Australian startup Diamond Circle is set to roll out its contactless Bitcoin debit cards in the UK and US, as part of its global expansion strategy.

Diamond Circle chairman Mike Oswald to Startupsmart that the company has appointed distribution partners in the UK.

"We’re now negotiating bitcoin exchange banking arrangements with a confidential partner in North America," Oswald said.

Diamond Circle’s debit cards are denominated in nine fiat currencies, making them easily usable internationally, and use near field technology which is slowly catching on in contactless payment on both sides of the Atlantic.

"We’re moving pay wave to bit wave," Oswald was quoted as saying by the publication.

Additionally, the Australian company is also developing a mobile reader to enable merchants accept BTC payments with their smartphones.
