Dubai’s Department of Economic Development (DED) has partnered with Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) and Visa to introduce the Consumer Card.

The new card will come in Visa Rewards and Visa Platinum versions. It will allow credit card holders to access instant discounts and privileges at multiple partners such as retail merchants and airlines.

Further, it will facilitate instant redemption of loyalty points at various partners that include utility payments in the UAE retail merchants and for making airline ticket purchases.

DIB deputy CEO and COO Mohamed Al Nahdi said: "Our strategic partnership with DED and Visa allows us to bundle an impressive range of benefits that enables customers to save on their daily purchases.

"The Consumer Card is special as it targets savings from areas where customers spend their money regularly, be it for shopping or entertainment purposes. The Consumer Card has a low cost, high-value proposition and will appeal to a large number of customers and allow them to enjoy unique benefits."
