Credimax, a credit card issuer and acquirer, has partnered with MasterCard to launch new reloadable prepaid card called ‘Cardy MasterCard Prepaid Card’ in Bahrain.

The new card will be accepted at over 35 million merchants globally.

Applicants can apply for the new card without a bank account or salary transfer.

CrediMax chief executive Yousif Ali Mirza said: "The cardholder can easily reload the card through Quick Pay Service, which is available on CrediMax website or through any of Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait ‘s (BBK) branches."

Commenting on the launch, MasterCard division president for Middle East and North Africa Raghu Malhotra, said: "With prepaid cards, consumers can reap the benefits of electronic payment solutions without holding a formal relationship with a financial institution. They play a particularly important role in driving financial inclusion."
