Digital coupons firm Coupons.com has updated its website and mobile apps with a new service allowing US users to add offers directly to their payment cards.
Using the Coupons.com website or the application for iOS and Android, shoppers register their Visa, MasterCard or American Express cards and add digital coupons to it for receiving automatic discount.
Bruce Sattley, senior vice president of product management at Coupons.com, said: "We always look to innovate in ways that help consumers save money. So we are really pleased to unveil our card linked service."
The service incorporates technology from Yub Inc. – a company recently acquired by Coupons.com – which allows users to link digital offers and reductions to their payment cards.
Offers are available in some local restaurants and retailers such as GAP, Old Navy and The Body Shop.
"We deliver a best-in-class service for consumers and merchants wanting to take advantage of this emerging medium of digital coupons for saving on card purchases, primarily for in-store transactions, which still make up more than 90% of US purchases," said Sattley.
