Payment service provider Computop has signed a deal with payments specialist ACI Worldwide to offer an integrated online payments and fraud prevention solution for e-commerce merchants.

The new solution is powered by ACI’s ReD Shield, which a premier card-not-present fraud detection and prevention solution.
The solution has been designed to help merchants gain insight into their fraud risk and online customer activity, thereby helping them fight fraud and improve conversion rates.
Computop claims that use of Computop Paygate integrated with Red Shield will help merchants make an informed choice on whether to refer a transaction to 3D Secure fraud prevention scheme.
All transactions will go through a risk assessment before any potential call out for 3DS authentication, and a merchant may choose to approve without calling out to 3DS in case of low risk transaction.

By GlobalDataIn case of a high risk transaction, it can be declined automatically, eliminating the requirement to request a 3DS authentication.
For ambiguous risk level, a request can be made for further validation through 3DS, via ReD Shield.
The process will address the basket abandonment concerns of merchants and offer them the option to select transactions requiring the added protection of 3DS.
