Visa Europe and WorldPay announced that customers of Clarks will be able to use Visa’s V.me digital wallet service to make purchases online.

The V.me by Visa payment system allows customers to complete online transactions through an internet browser on a PC, laptop, tablet, or smartphone, without passing full customer card details on to the retailer.

Ron Kalifa, deputy chairman of WorldPay said: "The addition of V.me by Visa to Clarks’ payment portfolio is indicative of increasing familiarity with digital wallets to pay for goods and services online and we’re seeing growing consumer confidence that online payments can be made easily and securely."

Kelly Smirk, head of MCR UK operations, Clarks added: "This new payment method will give our customers more choice about how they want to pay online, making it more convenient, simple and safe."

Visa and WorldPay announced earlier in the year that the Currys and PC World retail sites will accept payments made by customers using Visa’s V.me digital wallet.
