Citi has announced a mobile payments service
for parking.

The US-based bank has partnered with
Parkmobile USA, a provider of cashless parking solutions, to
develop an app that will enable consumers to pay for parking via
mobile phones.

The partnership is part of Citi’s Citi for
Cities strategy designed to enable citizens to access more services
that promote commerce and modernisation.

To use Parkmobile, drivers register an account
online and download the mobile app.

The virtual account, provided by Citi, can be
loaded via a credit or debit card or bank account transaction.
