CIMB Bank Vietnam, Viva Republica unveil CIMB-Toss Debit Card

CIMB Bank Vietnam and Viva Republica, which operates the Toss app, has introduced the CIMB-Toss Debit Card.

The new proposition leverages CIMB’s digital KYC solution and Visa payWave contactless payment capabilities.

Users can make payments with the card at retail outlets after opening a CIMB bank account through the Toss app.

In the event of unauthorised account access, users will be able to block payments while still utilsing their virtual cards for transactions.

CIMB director of Strategic Partners and Marketing Le Hien Trang said: “We have stripped everything and flipped all the user details to the back and [are] creating something that we think feels far more clean, refined and beautiful to use.

“Your user experience as a customer is really important to both Toss and CIMB, and we want every part of your experience to feel consistent and delightful.”

The latest development follows the launch of the CIMB and Toss virtual card earlier this year.

CIMB Bank CEO Thomson Fam said: “At CIMB bank, we’re willing to do things differently.

“It’s a common thread that runs through all the choices we’ve made so far, and broadly speaking, we now admit that we’re on a mission to transform every part of your banking experience with excellent delivery from Toss.”

Earlier this year, CIMB Bank Berhad, Singapore Branch collaborated with capital markets platform iSTOX operator ICHX Tech to enable its clients in the ASEAN region to gain access to a faster way to raise funds at a reduced cost.
