Chinese mobile payment solutions provider Beijing Inspiry Technology has expanded operations to the US by introducing its self-service QR-code payment device called Inspiry Smart Box in the city of San Francisco.
Through the introduction of Inspiry Smart Box in the US, the firm aims to strengthen its mobile payment services in North America as well as enable Chinese tourists to make payments through Alipay and Inspiry Smart Box at several restaurants.
Inspiry overseas business head Gao Zilong said: “San Francisco is one of the larger cities in the US with one of the highest concentrations of Chinese-Americans, and also where several of the world’s leading QR-code payment brands, including Alipay, have staked their reputations.
“The self-service QR-code payment solutions available in the city, such as Inspiry Smart Box, are providing a more convenient and safer payment experience to shoppers while helping to boost sales among local merchants.”
A report by Chinese research firm Analysys found Inspiry Smart Box holding 70% of the mobile payment device market in China.
Inspiry has been expanding its footprint outside its home market since last year, as part of its strategy to increase the usage of advanced QR-code payment devices and mobile payment services.
