Jd.com, a China-based B2C e-commerce company, is to launch a virtual credit card product for personal users.
The move is part of the company’s plan to enter into consumer financing services sector and increase its online payment accounts.
The company told Global Times that users can use the virtual credit card service to shop first up to CNY15,000 ($2,474.13) and pay later within 30 days or in instalments of three to 12 months.
According to the company, they can finish the application and credit within one minute, faster than conventional banks.
Xu Ling from consumer financing services of Jd.com said the services could cover all the physical shopping goods in the website, but not for virtual products, gold and jewellery.
